OLIVE (JEAN) GORDON February 5, 1919 - May 19, 2015 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother O. Jean at St. Boniface Hospital. Mom was predeceased by her love of her life James C. (1993). They were together 51 happy years. She was also predeceased by her parents Wallace R. and Kristin (Olafson) Pottruff, along with her brothers Wallace and Douglas with their wives Elsie and Becky. Jean leaves behind her loving daughter and son, Sally and Jim Jr. Mom gave us love, strength and so much joy. Jean and Jim were members of the All Saints Kinsmen and Kinette clubs and volunteered with Meals on Wheels for several years. Mom was a member of the Norwood United Church and also enjoyed many years curling at the St. Vital Curling Club. She also faithfully donated blood at the Red Cross. Always with a smile, Mom was a great wife, mother and friend. Rest in peace Mother of Mine. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date. Jim and Sally wish to thank the nurses, health care aides and Dr. Kevin Coates in 4E at St. Boniface Hospital. Also her family doctors Dr. Ron Davey (Ret.) and Dr. Christopher Matthews, who had taken exceptional care of Mom. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. Dear Sally and Jim: What fond memories I have about growing up next door to your family. I am so happy that Ian, Dorothy and I dropped by your home a few years ago to " borrow a cup of sugar". I still chuckle about your mother proudly telling us about one of the highlights of her life---jumping out of a cake at a Kinsmen party!! My condolences to you both.
