Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRUTH JOYCE WAGNER (nee BETKER) Peacefully on May 18, 2015, at the age of 83, Mom found eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Wilbert, of over 58 years, sons Donald (Edda), James (Trudy), Thomas (Judy), Grant (Ron), grandchildren Michael, Melissa and Christopher. Also survived by her brother Herb (Peggy) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents Emmanuel and Amelia, sisters Doreen, Eleanor, Margaret, brothers George, Rudy, granddaughter Christina. Mom was born April 22, 1932 in Winnipeg where the values of honesty, hard-work, and family, shaped her entire life. Married in 1956 and moved to Westwood in 1961. In addition to working full time caring for our family, Mom also worked outside the home most notably as swimming instructor and life guard with the City of Winnipeg for 15 years. Then as a data entry clerk for Eaton's until her retirement at 65. In retirement, Mom and Dad golfed together developing many friendships. They never found a casino they didn't like as Mom was famous for her good luck on the VLTs at "the office". Mom loved to laugh, tell stories, play games and will forever be remembered for her strong, determined spirit and her tireless dedication to our family. Thanks to everyone who helped Mom these last few years especially all the staff of Oakview Place. A Memorial Service to celebrate mom's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). We hope you can join us. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to mom's favourite charity, The Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6.
