Mom was predeceased by her husband John, her parents, sister Magdalene, brother Bernhard, sister Antonie and brother-in-law Antons Bogovics, niece Sandy Macfarlane and nephew Bruce Bogovics. Lilly leaves to cherish her memory, her two beloved sons Brian (Audrey) and Grant (Margery) and her grandchildren Corinne, Steve, Ingrid, Laura and her great-grandson, Kaylor. Niece Karin (Ivan) Duzlemic and Glen Bogovics (Sharon), stepbrother Erwin (Emmi) Mantei, and niece Susanne Mantei-Pawelzik (Christian) of Germany. Lilly was born in eastern Germany and immigrated to Canada, with her sister Toni in 1949. Sponsored by family, the sisters began their life in Canada near Steinbach. The sisters eventually moved to Winnipeg where she met John and they married in 1954. They built their home on Nottingham Avenue where she remained until moving to Kildonan House in 2011. Lilly was a hard working person who took pride in working at the Manitoba Club, Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce Club and working weddings for various Winnipeg caterers. Mom also worked together with dad in his apiary, especially at honey harvest, as his chief "uncapper". One of her dearest qualities was entertaining and providing all who came for a visit with a generous helping of food and strong coffee. As Oma called it, "Deutcher Kaffee". Thank you to the staff and friends at Kildonan House, that showed genuine care for Lilly since moving there in 2011, and to her friends at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church, where she may have been one of the first members when the doors opened in 1961. Funeral Service celebrating Lilly`s life will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church, 7 Tudor Crescent, with Pastor Jason Zinko officiating. Pallbearers are Glen Bogovics, Jared MacFarlane, Jordan MacFarlane, Brett MacFarlane, Trevor MacFarlane and Tyler MacFarlane. It is of great shock and sadness we learn of Lillian's passing. We met Lillian when she moved into Kildonan House. Over the years, we became good friends and enjoyed MANY games of Bingo together. Lillian just loved when her lovely granddaughters would come and play Bingo - she was soooooo proud of them... We shared many evenings at sing-a-longs also. Lillian was always willing to have a nice visit and share her baking - quite the baker. We will miss Lillian that is for sure. However, we have many, many fond memories. Lillian will always be remembered. She was one special lady! Our heartfelt condolences go out to all of Lillian's family members. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. - Posted by: Darlene & Norman Huley (Friends) on: May 26, 2015

To the Konrad Family: We had planned to have tea together with her China Tea Set; but God had other plans. Maybe we can still have tea together in her honor. My thoughts are with you. Margaret - Posted by: Margaret Lucyk (Family Friend) on: May 26, 2015

Me and my family- my husband Rick, daughter Katlyn and some of my brothers and sisters are sending condolences to you all in the passing of Lil. She was a very nice, kind and caring person. A long time ago she was a good friend of my Mother Elsie Lewadny who she met at the Winnipeg Air Force Base. They became good friends. I remember when she came to our wedding and had a grand time -boasting about her new "hot" pantsuit she wore that day. I know she still has this blue outfit as she told and showed me when we went over. Over the years your Mom kept in contact with me and always asked how everyone was doing even invited us over for a fantastic supper. She was a great hostess and took pride in that. She always phoned me at holiday times and we talked for hours on the phone. We will miss hearing from her. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Sorry we wont be able to attend the funeral as my husband just had major surgery and just got home. Take care.
