ROBERT JOHN ARMSTRONG It is with heavy hearts that we sadly announce the sudden passing of Rob of Winnipeg, Manitoba, on May 21, 2015. Rob was born in Winnipeg on January 25, 1950. Rob was predeceased by his parents Jean and Wilfred Armstrong, father-in-law Fred Sexton, brothers-in-Law Gordon Yaciuk, George Ferley, and nephew Michael Yaciuk. Rob will be lovingly remembered and cherished by his wife Heather Armstrong of 36 years, mother-in-law Lily Sexton, sisters Belva Ferley, Anne Yaciuk, nephews Ian Ferley (Jane), Grant Ferley (Kelly), nieces Dana Lesmeister (Julian), Janette Hubka (Matt). Rob will be sadly missed by his closest friends Leechan and Cynthia Sookram and their children Ryan, Leanne, Dryden and Tyra. Rob retired as a store Manager from the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission in 2005 after 34 years of service. Rob loved his Winnipeg Blue Bombers after 33 years as a season ticket holder. He also loved his Winnipeg Jets and was so happy to have them return to our city. Rob enjoyed golfing in the summer with his buddies, they called him Army. Rob loved travelling to Vegas twice a year. A celebration of Rob's life will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., viewing at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg Manitoba. Interment and reception will also be held at Chapel Lawn. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation.   • Heather....I am very sorry for your loss of Robert. When we worked together at the Eastwinds LC.....it was the best store to be because of him and the team we worked with. We all loved to laugh and it made for a very fun place to work. Robert blushed so easily....it made for more laughs as he tried to keep us all in work mode.
