Date of Passing: May 27, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN REA January 19, 1931 May 27, 2015 Kathleen passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in the morning of May 27 at Golden Links Lodge in Winnipeg. She was the daughter of Daniel and Kathleen Rea (deceased), sister of Joyce White (deceased), and Rosemary Goodwin. She is survived by two nieces (and their husbands), and two great-nieces, and a great-nephew. Kathleen was born and raised in East Kildonan and early on in life she became very interested in fashion and always dressed to the "nines" her whole life. Most of her working career was in retail sales and at one point in her youth she was a model for Eaton's in Ontario. She was diagnosed with Schizophrenia in early adulthood which greatly affected the course of her life. However she always tried to maintain a positive outlook on life and had a great sense of humor. One of her happiest accomplishments was fulfilling her lifelong dream of visiting the pyramids in Egypt while she was in her 60's. Her later years were spent as a resident of Golden Links Lodge where she met many wonderful staff members who she became very fond of over the years. The family would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to all of those who were a part of Kathleen's life there. A private family service will be held at a later date. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

Kathleen was a resident of Golden Links that I will always remember. Her quick wit and sense of humor was always appreciated. She did love fashion and I always enjoyed dressing up to show her the "look of the day". As Darlene said, her echo of "hi doll" will forever be etched in our minds. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Leyan () on: Jun 04, 2015

I met Kay when we were both young girls living in East Kildonan and working at Eaton's. We became great friends and travelled together to many wonderful destinations. Kay will be deeply missed. Glady - Posted by: Glady Borys (LaRoque) (Friend) on: Jun 03, 2015
