NORMA MASTERS MACDONELL (nee MCPHERSON) 101 years ago, weighing only 3 pound 4 ounces, Norma decided she was ready to join her three sisters as part of the loving family on Carruthers Avenue. She grew up in the church and was actively involved with St. Andrew's River Heights and Knox United for close to seventy years. Norma married the love of her life, Walter MacDonell in 1938 and they had 62 wonderful years together. They raised four children, David (Margaret) of Lorette, MB, Alex of Winnipeg, Norman (Rosemary) of Fairmont Hot Springs, BC and Anne (Randy) of Nanaimo, BC. They are lovingly remembered by ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Throughout the huge changes that occurred during Norma's lifetime, she freely gave of her love and acceptance while extending her warm smile to everyone. Walter died in June, 2000 and Norma gathered her courage, drew on her spiritual strength and carried on. Norma and Walter moved into Fred Douglas Place when it was first opened and she lived there until her death on May 25, 2015. A family interment service will take place at a later date.
