JARVIS WASKUL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Waskul on May 29, 2015 at the age of 79. He is survived by his partner Jean Berezowski; his children, Peggy (Julia), Cheryl (Randy), Carrie (Tommy); his two sons and stepson Keith; siblings, Mary, Willy (Olga), Olga (Frank), Ann (Len), Emile (Diane) and Jean (Randy); grandchildren, Jake, Kali, Tiffany and Justin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Frances; parents, Mike and Nellie; brothers, Ben and Frankie; brothers-in-law, Fred and Paul. Jerry was born and raised in Vita, MB on a farm with eight siblings. He left home at an early age to pursue a career in long haul trucking. Driving became his passion and "Big Wheel" travelled North America doing what he loved. Upon retiring from the road, he developed a successful general contracting business. He was a "Jack-of-all-Trades", always ready to lend a hand. If it was broke, he could fix it. If you wanted something built, he could build it. Jerry was a very social person. He was quick witted, charming and cheeky, and people loved him. In the summer, he would be at the cottage tending the yard, playing cards and horseshoes, and sharing a shot of his "special drink". He was also an avid bowler and curler. His real passion was dancing and he could be found at the local Legion, showing them how an old time polka was really done. This passion led him to meeting his love Jean, with whom he was able to travel and dance with over the past few years. Jean has been his constant companion, supporting and caring for him through the toughest year of his life. He will be deeply missed by many! Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on E6 at the St. Boniface Hospital, CancerCare MB, doctors: Butler, Kerr and Wong, and their nurses. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment and reception to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare MB. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

Jerry, your laughter and life was a blessing to be a part of. May all your days be burden free. You were like a 2nd Dad to me. Always willing to help or find ways for me to do it and learn! Never saying No. You and Peggy are one in the same. I guess that’s why I loved you so much. I’m sorry I took forever to write something here but as Peggy joins you now on the other side I know the 2 of you will carry on and be there when I arrive. May you both Redt In Forever Peace - Posted by: Shirly (Best Friend to Peggy) on: Jan 06, 2021

Jerry was incredible-loved his laugh, the share of a joke-he did love practical jokes on the gullible...I was one of them. He loved his family, events such as weddings and just plain getting together. We had incredible Ukrainian Easter family functions in Winnipeg. If it was quiet it wasn't quiet when Jerry entered the room. You will be missed. A door and a window that was linked to childhood has closed. Until we meet again. May God bless you and keep you during your eternal rest. VICHNAYA PAMYAT - Posted by: Susan Bordun (cousin's uncle) on: May 30, 2016

Always remember his sense of humour and craftiness in the garage. Usually I was with Carrie, we would be playing with Jerrys wood trying to build some silly contraption;and inside the garage and there would be a deer carcass just hanging there. He loved to go hunting.God rest his soul. - Posted by: Lisa Holgate () on: Jun 03, 2015
