Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA IRENE RUSSELL (SUFFRON) 1919 - 2015 Peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2015 our mom, Pat Russell passed away at the age of 96. Mom was born in England on March 17, 1919 coming to Canada as a baby with her parents Percy and Lillian Suffron. She grew up in the St. Vital area of Winnipeg, raised her family in the north end then spent the rest of her years in Charleswood. She always enjoyed her neighbours while living in their house on Fairmont Road and their condo on Grant Avenue. In 2012 Mom moved into The Parkway where she reconnected with old friends and made many new friends. Having her sister-in-law Jean Putnam next door was special to Mom because it enabled them to eat together daily and spend time together attending various activities. Mom also enjoyed her regular visits with her niece (and namesake) Patti. In 1943 Mom married our dad Calvin Russell. They celebrated 69 years of marriage before his passing in 2012. Mom is survived by two sons: Barrie (Louise), Gordon (Judy); daughter Christine (Derek) Giles; grandchildren Teresa (Edmund), Bryan, Robert (Sherri), Chelsey (Eric), Gordon and Levis; great-grandchildren Jordan, Ally, Hannah, Owen, Grady and Bennett, as well as sister-in-law Jean Putnam, and many nieces and nephews. She was an avid curler at the Charleswood Club. Mom and Dad spent many happy years camping at the Big Whiteshell Lake where they had a permanent campsite. Nearby was Chris and family where she enjoyed many happy times with her family and friends from the campground. We all love you Mom. You will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mom to the charity of one's choice. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Charleswood United Church at 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow. Private interment will take place later at Chapel Lawn.
