Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I remember Helen as a young woman, first when I lived with her sister Carrie and mother in Winnipeg when I was 13 in 1960. Later, she and Ted and their children sometime came to visit in Red Lake during the summer. Helen was a petite, soft spoken and beautiful lady who loved her family. To the family, my condolences in her passing. Carole - Posted by: Carole Patrick (She was sister to my father Alan Patrick's wife June.) on: Jun 09, 2015

  • While knowing Helen for close to 20 years, she was extremely giving and loving. Helen enjoyed her family and extended family on many fun occasions. Once her son Ken passed away she had her cat and many plants to take care of. Helen went out on shopping sprees with her sister Dorothy and once she passed away then her daughter-in-law Cheryl would take Helen on these same shopping sprees. Helen enjoyed when the grandsons came over and would ask for Black Cat bubble gum or the dispensing machine bubble gum that was always on hand. Greg and I will miss her very much. Helen has gone to a better place and will be welcomed with open and loving arms by family, friends and the many pets that were welcomed into her home. - Posted by: Diana () on: Jun 08, 2015

  • Rest in peace, Auntie Helen. I vividly remember our family get-togethers at Christmas, with aunts, uncles and cousins gathered around the table. Helen was a quiet gentle lady who was blessed to have a loving supportive family. My sympathies goes out to you, cousins Richard, Cheryl, and Susanne. - Posted by: Kate (Essenburg) Frego (Niece) on: Jun 08, 2015

  • We were blessed to have Helen in our lives. She was very fond of her grandchildren Devin, Brett and Tyler. Helen took ill in 2009, once released from the hospital she was no longer able to maintain her home on her own. We were very happy to extend own home to Helen, she enjoyed the ability to say hi to Tyler every morning. Helen was kept company everyday with our two cats Rusty and Mittens. Mittens would come to Helen to join her on her chair. Helen loved to toss treats out in the living room and watch mittens retrieve them. This was one of Helen's daily activities. Helen also enjoyed Kinsman Bingo on Saturdays, watering the various plants we grew inside and outside, and watching classic movies on TV. - Posted by: Cheryl Kalinin (Daughter-in-law) on: Jun 07, 2015
