MICHAEL (MIKE) DANYLCHUK April 5, 1924 - June 1, 2015 With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of our loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Mike Danylchuk. He retired to his heavenly home on Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Vita Hospital. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Nykola Danylchuk and Mary Baysarowich, his sister, Stella and her husband, John Chopyk, his brother, Walter Danylchuk and brother, William Danylchuk. He is survived by his one brother, Alex (Jean) Danylchuk, sisters-in-law, Martha Danylchuk and Patricia Danylchuk, as well as many nephews and nieces: Marie, Wilma, Patricia, Olga, John, Connie, Carol, Lawrence, Linda, Daniel, Albert, and Sandra, as well as their partners, great nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. Mike was a humble, compassionate and gentle man. He devoted his life to his family, the farm, and as a section man for the CN. He also delighted at serving the priest at masses at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church of Zhoda, Manitoba for many years, following into his fathers' footsteps. Mike enjoyed life to the fullest. His many trips out West to Banff, enabled him to appreciate the Rockies, its many lakes, and all that nature provides. He was also a berry picker, knew all the good blueberry patches in the near surroundings. Mike loved picking mushrooms, and shared his discoveries with his nearby nieces. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 162 Highway 52 West, Steinbach, Manitoba. Viewing will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Zhoda Cemetery. The active pallbearers are: Lawrence Danylchuk, Daniel Danylchuk, Albert Danylchuk, Sandra Perez, Linda Wynychuk and John Chopyk. Rest in Peace, Mike!
