PHYLLIS ELIZABETH SHIPMAN (nee HALLICK) September 12, 1928 - June 10, 2015 After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Phyllis passed away peacefully with family by her side. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Albert, to whom she was engaged after a three week courtship. They married within a year and would have been married 65 years on August 26. Her memory remains with: children Rand (Patricia), Lauren Laing (William), and Daryl (Rosanne); grandchildren Paul (Eveline), Parick (Diana), and Tyler Justin (Cindy), Andrew (Crystal) and Stefan (Real), Kristen (Michael) and Joshua (Dana); seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Della, Laura, Francis; brother Adam; and countless nieces and nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Adam and Katherine; sisters Nellie, Julie, Mary, Eleanor and baby Victoria; brothers John, Alph, Ziggy, and Ted. Phyllis took great pride in her travelling and adventures with Al. She often reminisced on their time in Australia, Hawaii and Florida. Together they travelled Canada from coast-to-coast-to-coast, and much of the United States. Family came first for Phyllis, she always put their needs before her own. Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the CancerCare unit and Palliative Manitoba at Seven Oaks hospital for their care and compassion. In keeping with Phyllis' wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 10:00am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDiarmid Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or Jocelyn House Hospice, 177 Egerton Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2M 2W7.
