MERLE CATHERINE PAULINE KOPILAS (nee SHIRRITT) April 25, 1941 - June 6, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Merle "Kuma, Doll, Pokey" with her husband Jozo by her side. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband Jozo "Keeko" of 45 years. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her twin sister Muriel, her siblings Linda (Lawrence), Wes (Jenny) and Charles (Mary), as well as her brothers-in-law Mirko, Marinko and her numerous nieces and nephews Jackie (with family Howie, Jon, Ben), Josie (with family Louis, Jay), Janet (with family Sanjay, Raina, Maddox), Gabby (with family Marcel, Dru, A.J.), Frank (Melanie), Frances (Nicole), Melanie, Cinzia, Dante, Kitrina, Sherry, Alan, and Debbie. She was predeceased by her Mumsy Pauline, her father George, her nephew Jeff, her sisters-in-law Maria and Stana and her dear cousin Lucy. Merle was especially fond of the poem "I am": The "I" that is me you cannot see. You only see the form that you think is me. This form that you see, will not always be. But the I that is me, lives eternally. As per Merle's wishes, a private family funeral has already taken place to celebrate her life.
