ANNE TUCHIWSKY (nee FURMAN) It is with deep sadness, that we announce the passing of our dear beloved, Anne Tuchiwsky. Anne passed away June 12, 2015 at Golden Links Lodge at the age of 100. Anne was predeceased by her husband John, daughter Linda and sisters Olga and Minnie. Anne is survived by three sisters, Nellie, Joan (Earl), Carol and brother, Larry (Mary) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Anne was born December 18, 1914 to John and Mary Furman. She grew up on the family farm in Buchanan, Saskatchewan where she met and married her husband John in August 1944. Anne worked in several restaurants and cafés while John worked as a barber in the Army. When his tour was over, they settled in Oakville, Manitoba where he opened his own shop. Their daughter, Linda was born in 1950. She and Anne had a very special relationship with a bond that could never be broken. Upon John's death, Linda vowed to look after her mother. The two were inseparable, laughing and sharing every moment with each other. Anne lost her best friend when Linda passed away in July of 2010. Anne loved to cook, exchange recipes, crochet, knit and do the "odd" craft. Whenever someone had a new recipe, she was cooking it, or a new craft craze came to light, she was making it. She enjoyed when company came to visit and always had a fresh pot of tea on the table, great conversation till all hours of the morning and a small, but oh so satisfying, lunch. Everyone was always welcomed and nobody ever left hungry. The kids who couldn't pronounce her name affectionately called her "Machewski" or "Mrs. Shooky". Her baby blue eyes were inviting to all who knew her and her infectious smile would melt your heart. She treated all with dignity and respect and had the zest for life that everyone adored. Special thanks to the Staff at Golden Links Lodge for loving and taking such wonderful care of our "Little One" as well to her family and friends for their love and support through this difficult time. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 16 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue with Very Rev. Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7. • Hello family, So very sorry to hear of the passing of Anne. I met her because my mom is in golden links lodge. She was always so nice to me. I would always take the time to talk to her. She was such a beautiful soul. I lost touch with her when every body moved places. She didn't look like 100 years young. May God gave you peace. Memories are the flowers in the gardens of the heart. May you find comfort in warm memories and in knowing others sympathize and care. Love Jackie XXXX - Posted by: Jackie lambert (Friend from golden links Lodge) on: Jun 15, 2015
