Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBENJAMIN JOHN WEST FLYNN Benjamin John West Flynn was born on January 17, 1969 and died of a sudden seizure on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. He is survived by his parents, Peter and Judith Flynn, his sister, Catherine Flynn, his nephew, Breandan Waddell-Flynn, his late wife's mother, Claudette Jubinville, sister-in-law Marci Gauthier and two nieces, Madison and Kirsten Gauthier, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Sherri-Lynn, his brother-in-law, Brett Waddell, and aunt Carolyn Hample. Although afflicted by a combination of psychiatric and psychological conditions, including high-spectrum autism, he managed, in spite of the odds against it, to graduate from high-school, to marry, and to live independently. He was for many years a faithful member of the servers' guild at St. Matthew's Anglican Church and was due to begin serving at St. George's Crescentwood this summer. He loved video games, TV wrestling, and possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of the Star Wars movies. Ben's condition made it difficult for him to make friends, but he persisted in trying to reach out to others wherever he went, and had made for himself a large network of telephone friends including his cousin Laura Curbishley, his uncle Tom Prescott, aunt and uncle Joan and Russ Collnett, Scott of Tache Pharmacy, Diane, his teacher from the school at Health Sciences, the Corbin family, and until she moved to Alberta, Mary Dent. There were many others, whose identities are not known to us but who have nevertheless his family's profound gratitude. Ben will always be remembered with deep affection as well as great sadness by his family and friends. Those who knew him well were often struck by his intelligence, his love of words, his wittiness and his kindness. He never forgot a family birthday or special occasion. And we will never forget the way he always bid goodbye to people with the phrase, "God bless your week." God bless you, Ben, and may you rest in peace. Cremation has already taken place. A memorial service will take place at St. George's Anglican Church, 168 Grosvenor at Wilton, on Monday, June 29 at 11:00 a.m. If they so wish, in lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in Ben's memory to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra's Sistema Winnipeg project. I will always remember my friendship with Ben. I'm sad that we never had any more time to get to know each other better. My heart goes out to his family who were constant caregivers to him during his life. Although we can't see him physically...we await the day that we are reunited with him in heaven. I remember our deep talks and his ability to make me smile. Ben you were a true friend and I'm sorry that I wasn't always there for you. May you forgive me and find peace with the Lord of all kindness in heaven. I know your light is shining down on us all today. It was a pleasure meeting your Mom and Dad. Please accept my condolences on your loss. Miss you "Star Wars" Ben. :( - Posted by: Andrew Vanderdonckt (Friend) on: Jun 29, 2015

Ben's life was difficult but cushioned as much as possible by the love and devotion of his family. This tragic loss does not erase the love. I think of you all at this difficult time. - Posted by: Michael Eleff (Family friend) on: Jun 26, 2015
