Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMINNIE ZAPOTOTSKY (nee KALESKI) September 27, 1916 - June 24, 2015 It is with sorrow that the family of Minnie Zapototsky announce her passing at the Selkirk General Hospital on June 24, 2015. She leaves us sad but so grateful for her lengthy and much loved presence in our lives. Born in 1916 to Peter and Dora Kaleski in Libau, MB, she grew up in a family with a strong work ethic, sense of community and caring; values she maintained throughout her long life. Minnie married John in 1934, and they established their own farm, which they ran successfully for many years, and where they raised their family of two daughters and a son. Always active in the community, their contributions were many, their doors and hearts open. They moved to Selkirk in 1991 - to their retirement home on Pacific Avenue. Mom stayed in her home until 2007, then moving to Woodland Courts. Minnie was predeceased by her husband John, elder daughter Vivian Troschuk and only son Ken; brother John Kaleski; sisters, Irene Salter, Mary Smorang and Steffie Kruk. She is survived by daughter Marilyn Anderson (Doug); son-in-law John Troschuk (Vi); daughter-in-law Bernice (Jim); sister Frances Kalichuk (Merv) and sister-in-law Mary Zapototsky. She was beloved Baba to Debra Lamothe, Brenda Paradoski (Rick), Michele Serano (Chris), Darci Gagne (Corey) and Douglas Zapotosky. She was also Great-Baba to Kyle Lamothe, Nicole Lamothe (Irakli), Jodi Paradoski (Chase), Jaymi Paradoski (Chris), Emilie and Vincent Serano and Matthew and Kyle Gagne. "Auntie" is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews. The family thanks her friends and the staff at Woodland Courts and are particularly grateful to Dr. Richard Lindenschmidt for his unfailing care and kindness to her. Special thanks as well to RN Catherine of the medical ward for her caring and support. Cremation has taken place and celebration of this dear woman's life will be on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

SOME OF MY FONDEST MEMORIES ARE OF HELPING ON THE FARM OR IN THE BUTCHER SHOP I NEVER DID UNDERSTAND HOW THE STATEMENT "IF I KNEW YOU WHERE COMING I WOULD OF PREPARED SOMETHING" COULD BE FOLLOWED BY A FANTASTIC FEAST - Posted by: Greg Shewchuk (friend) on: Jun 27, 2015

My condolences to the family. Minnie spent many hours at the Libau Community Club and I learned a lot from her. It was a pleasure to work with her at the club. - Posted by: Pat Gushta (friend) on: Jun 27, 2015
