PEARL (PENNY) VIRGINIA MELQUIST September 3, 1954 - June 16, 2015 Pearl passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at the age of 60. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Jessie Melquist; sisters Ruby Melquist and Coral Wood (Jeff); her nieces Patricia (Lewis, children Holden and Gabrielle), Elizabeth (Jordan); her nephews Colin (Teresa, son Lincoln), James (Daria) and her special friend Marilyn. Pearl was predeceased by her father Albert Melquist in 2002. Pearl's friends, who knew her as "Penny", will miss her warm smile and her welcoming hugs. She was always thankful for her many friends, home care workers, and anybody that lent her a hand. She often said she was blessed. As you told our mom on a daily basis, we tell you now, we love you from the bottom of our hearts and a million times over. Our Penny Pearl will remain in our hearts forever. A Graveside service will be held at a later date at Riverland Cemetery, Lac du Bonnet. Those wishing to honour Pearl may make a donation to a charity of their choice. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Penny and I were friends back in the 70's when she lived just off River and had that crazy wild cat....LOL and then a few more years later. Going to the Grant was one of our past times. I enjoyed her company as did my other friends....sorry to hear of her passing. I often thought about where she was and how she was doing. My deepest sympathy to the family. - Posted by: Dianne Medwid (friend in Wpg in the 70's) on: Jul 22, 2015

  • I remember our visits to Lac Du Bonet when we were children. We had so much fun playing with our cousins in the beautiful wooded place that was their home. I also remember going blue berry picking with the family. I send love and condolences to Aunt Jesse, Ruby and Coral and their families. I'm sure Pearl will be missed sorely by you all. - Posted by: Alvina Thompson nee Guenther (cousin) on: Jun 27, 2015
