DOROTHY MARTIN (nee HOSSACK) Dorothy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at the age of 78. She is survived by her husband Jack; children, Heather (Doug), Bob (Aynsley) and Brian; as well as her grandchildren, Andrew, Melissa, Kaitlyn, Bryce, Avril and Jenna. She was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Rod; her brother David; and is survived by her sisters, Jessie (Dennis) Bedard, Bev Pyper; sister-in-law Ruth Hossack; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Olga Martin. Family was Dorothy's true passion. She always taught her children the importance of spending time together and supporting each other. She took great pleasure in having her children and grandchildren over to her home, to visit or when family would come over, to have a wonderful home cooked meal. Even as her health began to decline, she continued to encourage her grandchildren to bring their friends to use the family pool. The sounds of family were always uplifting to her. Dorothy and Jack took great pleasure in travelling. Whether it was the family trips to Hawaii when the children were young, to vacation and visit with her parents, Rod and Dolly, their trip with father Rod to England and Scotland, or the many trips to Florida, to visit Brian and enjoy time on the Florida beaches, the experiences Jack and Dorothy shared were always cherished. The family would like to thank Dr. Harris and Dr. Wong, as well as the staff in 5 Unit 6 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, for their excellent care and compassion. Their support was a great comfort during a difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715

Dear Auntie Dorothy, The one thing I will always remember is your smiling face when I came over for Christmas dinner, the smell of your cooking was the best and i really wish I got to know you more, I think my son Jaxon (great great nephew) has your happy smile whenever he meets anyone. I wish you had got the chance to meet him. You are going to be greatly missed by the whole family. - Posted by: Sabrina Schultz (Great-Niece ) on: Jun 29, 2015

Dear Auntie Dorothy, I have so many happy memories of times spent at your house, family get-togethers, Christmas dinners, pool parties and so on. Bridal and baby showers were held in your home, and you were always such a gracious hostess. Whenever I think of you, Grace, love, and caring are the first three words that pop into my head. I am so sorry for the great suffering you went through in your final years, and though we rarely saw you, you were in my thoughts and prayers on a very regular basis. I am grateful that your pain has at last ended, but you will be missed by all who knew you. I know Dad and Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle David are all with you now, and will guide you through this transition period. I'm also sure Danny will be glad to see you as well. Rest easy now, Auntie, your journey has just begun. Much Love, Your niece, Beth - Posted by: Beth Balanduk (Niece ) on: Jun 28, 2015
