MARION STOKES 1920 - 2015 Peacefully, on Thursday, June 25, 2015, with family by her side, Marion passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home, at the age of 95 years. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Judy, Ron (Ni), Marie, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Marion was married in September, 1942 to Norman, who predeceased her in 1999. She was also predeceased by her son Doug, sister Irene and son-in-law Ken. Marion worked in various positions, but her favourite role was at Eaton's as a women's coordinator when she was 53 years old, retiring at 67 years old. Marion spent many years at Loni Beach. She had a passion for watching golf, curling, tennis and baseball. Family always enjoyed her delicious dinners, especially her Christmas baking. Our family would like to express our gratitude to the doctors and staff at Maples Personal Care Home for their excellent care of our mother this past four and one half years. Special thanks to Patricia Kidd for her love and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6. In respect to Marion's wishes, a family service will be held at Brookside Cemetery. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Judy - My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. When my husband, Bruce, was at the Maples we would have many chats with you and your Mom. You were also so kind to Bruce. Your Mom was a beautiful lady and you were both very fortunate to have each other in your lives for so long. My thoughts are with you and may your Mom rest in peace. • Very sad to hear of your Mom's passing. I will always remember her 'poise'. If I could have 2 Moms she'd be mine too. And how fortunate to have had her in your life all this time. - Posted by: Leslie (ROSS) STECHER () on: Jun 28, 2015
