ELSIE MERYL PRIEMSKI (BEAM) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom and best friend, Elsie Priemski, on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, at the age of 93 years. Left to celebrate Mom's life are her sister-in-law, Joan Beam (Priemski); son Brian (Shirley); daughters, Linda, Brenda (Michael) and Barb (Mark); grandchildren, Eric, Michelle, Joslyn, Chris, Jascon, Kelly and Jenny; many great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Michael; brothers Elgin, Allan, Ron, Bill and Tom; sisters Florence and Olive; daughter Pat; and grandson Sean. On December 1, 1921, Mom was born to William and Alice Beam, and grew up on the family farm at Fortier, Manitoba. She will always be remembered for her love of family, her many years of generous volunteering, and never being able to say "no" to anyone in need. Mom's early years of volunteering began at Stella Mission and continued with various organizations throughout her life. She also spent many years volunteering with the Broadway Neighborhood Centre. This was Mom's favourite place and she often referred to it as "her work". Mom could be found there most days preparing food, helping with bingos or going on outings with her group. She could always be counted on and Broadway Neighborhood Centre was "Elsie's place". At the age of 85, Mom finally retired. A private family Funeral Service will be held. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the kind and caring staff and volunteers of Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, who made a significant difference in the quality of our mom's later life. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory of our mother to the Broadway Neighborhood Centre, 185 Young Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1Y8 or a charity of choice. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB in care of arrangements 204.586.8668. • Aunt Elsie was always a happy, smiling lady who was very family oriented. She was always very good to us, my brothers and myself, when we were younger. Had a great laugh! - Posted by: Ed [Karen] Beam (Nephew) on: Jul 05, 2015

  • Very grateful for my grandma who really raised me thru my earlier years, staying with her & grandpa & my aunts & uncles for several years. Then later as my mom worked little granny would ALWAYS take the busses to wherever we lived, often over an hour each way thru -40 & rain. Never a complaint, and she had much to deal with on her own. I will always remember how she helped others @ West Broadway helping poor & disadvantaged people taking the bus for so long until her 70s when she had falls. She was quiet, and an example of what God's work is. I will miss her greatly - Posted by: eric jorgensen (grand son ) on: Jul 04, 2015
