WILLIAM G. GRABOWSKY 1921 - 2015 On Tuesday, June 30, 2015 Bill passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Golden Links Lodge Personal Care Home, at the age of 93 years, and now rests with his Lord. Left to remember Bill are his three sons, Ray (Erma), William (Yvonne) and David (Ana); eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Alice Hanna; brother Lawrence; and sister-in-law Ruth Publicover. He was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine; son Charles; parents Charlie and Lena; brother Allan; as well as brother-in-law Ray Eberle. Bill served in the Air Force during the Second World War and was very proud to do his part for his country but Bill was farmer by heart. He farmed for many years in the Brunkild, Manitoba area and also worked for the Rural Municipality of Macdonald, Manitoba, as their district weed supervisor for 21 years, retiring in 1985. In retirement Dad and Mom enjoyed many trips to Arizona with their motor home and made many friends during their winters away. Bill recently fractured his hip and despite successful surgery could not make the steep climb back into our lives. A private Funeral Service for Bill will held at a later date for family and friends. Our family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and aids at both the Victoria and Seven Oaks Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care of our Dad. Our thanks as well to both the Riverview Health Centre in the last year and most recently the Golden Links Lodge staff for their care and concern and making our Dads last days as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bill to a charity of choice. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB in care of arrangements 204.586.8668. • Sincere condolences to the family on the passing of your father. Though I never met William senior, I knew Bill and Yvonne in St. Pierre, MB and if it was any indication through Bill junior's life, your father was a great man. I know he will be sadly missed but I am sure you have great memories. - Posted by: Paul Roy (Bill and Yvonne's friend) on: Jul 04, 2015

  • Ray, Bill & David and family, Sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. For many years he was a good neighbour and delighted us with stories of his time in the Armed Forces. He will be missed. - Posted by: Jean & Carol Caron (Former neighbours ) on: Jul 04, 2015

  • My deepest sympathy for the loss of your dad. I have many fond memories of childhood times when the next generation of cousins would gather at one Grabowski farm or another. It was always fun to see your dad and mom and you at those places. While you will miss the visits to him at Golden Links, you will always have the memories and love of him forever.
