JACK ALBERT GRAFF Peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at the age of 89 years, loving father and grandfather, Jack Albert Graff passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In that moment, he was reunited with his beloved wife Margaret, whom he called out for in his final days and moments. They will spend eternity hand in hand strolling over Heaven with loved ones who have gone before them. Knowing Mom and Dad are reunited for eternity, brings a peace and comfort to his sons, Jack (Jan) and Doug (Anne-Marie); three daughters, Janice, Dawn (Dennis) and Colleen (Burk); and grandson, JD. Also left to cherish his memory is honorary special "adopted daughter" Karen Hewitt who vowed to "Maggie" she would watch over "Albert". That vow remained unbroken to Dad's final breath. This family thanks you Karen! He is also survived by one sister Margaret Wojcik; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in both Canada and the United States. He was predeceased in 2013 by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Margaret Graff. Dad was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 12, 1926 and at the age of 12 moved to Gull Lake, Manitoba. At a young age he learned to repair cars and was a master mechanic and auto body repairman. He was an amazing home handyman, there was nothing he couldn't fix, make, build or repair. Dad was a Veteran, called to the Army at the age of 18 and proudly served his country. He was employed with BF Goodrich and Alsip Brick and Tile. Dad later became a Winnipeg Transit Bus Driver, retiring in 1993 in the capacity of Bus Driving Instructor after 36 years of proud, dedicated and continuous service to the City of Winnipeg. Sadly in the past year, Dad was diagnosed with Dementia. Although Dementia may have caused him to forget many of those he held most precious, his heart always knew who they were! Dad loved his children and each held a special place in his heart. For many years Dad faithfully tuned into John Aune's Sunday Request Show on CFRY. Thank you Mr. John for the many years of joy your show, and music you played brought to his life! On Wednesday, July 8, 2015, Jack's Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. Interment followed in Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue. For those who wished, viewing was held prior to the service. A special thank you to Dr. Hasdan and Tower 4 staff at Deer Lodge Centre for the kind, compassionate, dignified and professional care provided to Dad to the very end. Special thank you to the following staff on Tower 6: Noreen RN, and healthcare aides, Rolondo, Karen and Jessica. You are treasured to us always! Jack's nephew, Richard Wojcik of Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB in care of arrangements 204-586-8668. • We are sorry to hear about this great loss of a great Uncle. We have many fond memories of both your dad and mom both here in California and there in Winnipeg. Uncle Jack was harsh when he talked but a softy down deep in his heart. We will miss him deeply. Thanks Colleen, Burke and Karen for taking care of this great man! You have always been there for him. Both your mom and dad (with my dad) are looking down on us now. We love you all! - Posted by: Ben and Karen Velez (Niece and husband) on: Jul 07, 2015

  • So sorry to hear about the loss of your dad Colleen, Janice and Dawn and the entire family. I always loved your Mamma and Dad and I know that they are together again. You all now have 2 special angels watching over you all. Now they will be able to meet my mom and dad too. Big hugs to you all. - Posted by: Brenda Flamand (friend) on: Jul 07, 2015

  • My thoughts and prayers go out to Jack, Doug and the girls at the loss of your dad. Jack Sr was one of a kind and one of the most highly and fondly respected Transit employees I've ever met. Everyone who's known Sr through his career at Transit has a fun memory of his crusty but good hearted way he treated his charges. R.I.P. Jack, you will be missed. - Posted by: Dan Kirk (Co-worker) on: Jul 06, 2015

  • My sincere condolences to you Collen and Burke on the loss of dad. He was a kind and gentle man that had few words but knew how to use them when he had to. He can now join momma "poops" and once again enjoy her cooking and her sense of humour. To Janice, thank you very much for letting us know at the lodge of his passing, we greatly appreciated that. He was always a part of our family there, our sympathy also to you. To Karen, the family owes you a lot of praise and gratitude for being there every step of the way for "Maggy and Jack". I only wish I could have known them as long as you and enjoyed their kind and gentle ways. Take care and know he is in a better place. - Posted by: Michelle Hazelton (Friend of family) on: Jul 04, 2015
