BERTHA LAJOIE December 16, 1941 - July 3, 2015 Peacefully, following a brief illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Bertha Lajoie, with her family at her side, on July 3, 2015 at the age of 73 in Ste Anne, Manitoba. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Ray, Guy (Lucia), Claudette (Garry), Claude and Lorette (Scott), grandchildren Nicholas, Jeremy, Daniel, and Avery, sisters Jeanette Brown, Hélène (Emile) Poirier, Beatrice and Hince, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Denis and Dolores Lambert, Marcel Lajoie, and numerous family and friends. Our mom led a full, active life. She was a great listener, loved and respected by all, and her children and grandchildren's biggest fan. Her strong faith and belief in community were a big part of her life. She will be missed by all those who loved her. Funeral Mass will be held at Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church, 162 Centrale Avenue, Ste. Anne, Manitoba on Saturday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing at 9:00 a.m. A reception will be held following the service at Seine River Banquet Centre with interment following at Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks all donations be made in Bertha's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4G2. • My deepest sympathy to Raymond and the rest of the Lajoie family. May God give you peace and comfort as you mourn the death of your mother. I know cherished memories will be forever in your hearts and her legacy lives on in each of you. • Thank you Ma Tante! For all the nice visits and meals we had together with you in our home. Thank you for listening and being there for us and for all the wonderful advice you've given us to help us grow and think about in the future. Lord please surround her family with your LOVE and PEACE from today on...as they go through this difficult time. I pray family and friends will be there for Aunty Bertha's children (Claudette, Lorette, Guy and Ray) to lean on and listen just like she did for us. Thank you Lord Jesus for Aunty Bertha and I know because she accepted You as her Lord and Saviour, she's by your side in heaven! Amen! - Posted by: Carole (Niece) on: Jul 09, 2015

  • I had the honour of meeting Mrs. Lajoie at the community bingo behind her son Guy house in Winnipeg. Guy and I were both there with our mothers and shared a table. She was always nice to chat with whenever we met up at bingo. Many blessings and prayers to Guy and his family. - Posted by: Heather Oswald () on: Jul 09, 2015

- Posted by: Paul Ruest (Friend) on: Jul 09, 2015

  • Bertha what are we going to do without you..the restaurant in the morning isn't the same without you..Bertha was a daily customer who always came in the morning for breakfast and coffee but ended up volunteering her time, whether it was serving coffee to customers or taking dishes off the tables, she loved to chit chat and laugh with the morning crew. Even if she didn't know who they were she would always go to there table and joke around with them and make them laugh. Bertha you are a wonderful woman who loved everyone that surrounded you...may you rest in peace.. - Posted by: Linda (Owner of Timberline restaurant ) on: Jul 08, 2015
