Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMIKE PESTALUKY 1921 - 2015 It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Pestaluky announces his passing on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the age of 94 years. Mike was a much loved husband to Alice for 69 years, father to Garry (Maria), Wayne; and grandfather to Melanie (Mike), Tiffany (Jade), Lisa (Scott) and Amber who will miss him dearly. Mike was a great-grandfather to Ty, Halle, Caiden, Gracie and Jackson. Mike is survived by Sister Marie Watson and close extended family. Mike was born in Siglunes Unorg, Manitoba Canada on July 20, 1921. Mike retired from The Hudson Bay Company in 1990 after 45 years of service. Mike liked to entertain friends and family. Our home was filled with countless hours of country music. Two of Mike's favourite country artists were Wilf Carter and Hank Williams. Mike was an avid lover of birds. His favourite pastime was the raising and racing of homing pigeons. Mike enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of the crop of tomatoes he grew every year. Mike always looked forward to a good game of cards especially Hola and Cribbage. You have touched many hearts in your life and we will all miss you very much Mikey. Deep appreciation to all the staff at the Golden Door Care Home, who cared for Mike daily. Cremation has taken place, and in compliance with Mikes wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at Green Acres Cemetery at a later date. Miss Me But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little, but not too long And not with your head bowed low Remember the love that we once shared Miss me, but let me go For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone, It's all part of the Masters plan A step on the road to home So when you are lonely and sick at heart Go to friends we know, And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds Miss me, but let me go. I only met Uncle Mike twice, once when his family came on vacation, and next to my Dad's funeral. I was very impressed with his music and mild mannerism. Often regret not having closure ties to relatives. Condolences to his family and Aunt Marie. Bert Pocaluyko - Posted by: Bert Pocaluyko (Nephew) on: Jul 18, 2015

I enjoyed listening to Mike play his guitar and sing his favorite Country songs. I used to admire his vegetable garden which he put so much hard work into and was always willing to share the fruits of his labor. Mike was always ready to challenge us to a game of Cribbage or Hola & sometimes we would have tournaments which could become very interesting at times, all to Mike's pleasure of course. He was a man of honesty and was never afraid to speak his mind. These are just a few of the fond memories of Mike (Pa) that I will cherish forever. May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Yolande Pestaluky () on: Jul 13, 2015
