EILEEN MUNRO
Born: Sep 29, 1922
Date of Passing: Jul 04, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(JEAN) EILEEN MUNRO Peacefully on July 4, 2015, at Stonewall Hospital, Eileen Munro, passed away at the age of 92 years. Left to cherish her memory are her son Cam, daughter-in-law Betty, son Brett and daughter-in-law Carrie. She will be missed by her grandchildren Ashley (Ben), Kaleigh (Mark), Katie and Emily and her three great-grandchildren Natileigh, Liam and Carver. She will also be missed by special nephew Wayne (Lynn) and niece Myrna (Brian) and grandnephew Bryan (Anita) and their son Cody and daughter Danika. Eileen was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Arnold, in 1998 and her twin sister Marjorie, in 2013, as well as brothers-in law Erm Stewart, Jack Munro, sisters-in-law Marjorie Hamilton, Ethel Smith, Jessie Baldwin, Gladys Kipp and grandnephew Jeffery Stewart. Mom and her twin sister Marj were born on September 29, 1922 and grew up in Argyle, Manitoba. They were married in a double ceremony on September 21, 1946. Mom and Dad lived in Argyle before moving to Warren in 1958, where she lived in the family home on Hanlan Street until moving to Stonewood Place in Stonewall, Manitoba in 2012. Family was the most important thing to Mom. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looked forward to visits and telephone conversations. Mom loved music. It was quite common to see her dancing around the kitchen while listening to "fiddle music" on the "Portage Station" on Saturday nights. She also spent many hours of enjoyment watching Wayne and his band play and was always delighted to be included to watch their performances. Mom's other great love was to keep genealogy records. She knew family tree history for so many and kept hand written journals, which, after taking a typing course in 1971, graduated to type-written records of family and friends' history. She often could recite information without having to refer to these records as her memory was very sharp even in her 92nd year. We would like to thank Dr. Pinniger, Nurses and Staff at the Stonewall Hospital for their care and compassion in Mom's final days. To the Homecare Professionals at Stonewood Place, thank you for taking such good care of Mom. Thank you Janis for the special care you gave Mom she looked forward to your visits. To Marlene thank you for being Mom's friend and driver. She loved the time she spent with you. "As long as hearts remember, as long as hearts still care, we never part with those we love, they are with us everywhere." "Live each day to the fullest, not to sweat the small stuff to enjoy music and small pleasures because some day one of those beautiful sunsets will be our own." Memorial service will take place Monday, July 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, MB. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall 204-467-2525 mackhome@mts.net
