Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN GAHAN EDGE December 21, 1926 - July 8, 2015 Jack was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and grew up in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Jesse, and is survived by his wife Eileen, daughters Cathy and Nancy, granddaughters Allison and Kelly (Bryan), brother Bill (Anne), and nephews Bill (Wenda), Doug (Carol), Rob (Stephen) and Tom (Lori). Jack received his electrical training at the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He joined the Manitoba Power Commission in Dauphin, Manitoba in 1947 and retired from Manitoba Hydro in 1983. His hobbies included beekeeping, woodworking, metal working, and playing trombone in the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Band, Royal Winnipeg Rifles Band, Assiniboia Concert Band and the Edge Family Band. Jack was active in his church, Christ Church Anglican, and volunteered at the Manitoba Electrical Museum. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his Lake St. George, Manitoba cottage. Jack will be remembered by all who knew him as a kind, caring people' person with a great sense of humour. Thank you to staff at the Charleswood Care Centre for your care of our loved one. I was surprised and saddened to see Jack's picture in the obit listings. He was a great friend and mentor and we have missed him at the Museum since he did not come out.
