After the passing of Ivan, she moved back home to Manitoba. She resided with her brother Alan and then came to stay with her sister Pat in Winnipeg, where many wonderful memories were created, as she got to know her many nieces and nephews. She will be forever missed and forever loved. Special thanks to Dr. Emadi of the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, Dr. Dhaliwal of CancerCare and the nurses of WRHA Palliative Home Care Program for their kindness, especially Trish Farkass for being there at the time of Lorraine's passing and for providing comfort and support to the family. So very sad to hear of Lorraine's passing. We lost touch over the years since leaving the area, however fond memories of family get togethers remain. Also a few school antics, which Lorraine always enjoyed. Sadly, another good person lost to cancer. Our thoughts are with the family. May the good memories and happier times pull you through this sad time. Kathy & Bill - Posted by: Kathy Sutherland (school chum) on: Jul 22, 2015

Lorraine was a great friend, easy to get along with and very generous. She had such an easy going manner, loved her kids, (dogs). Ivan and her both loved having company. You could just drop in at the drop of a hat. When they first moved to town, my family and I recieved a small sum of money from them at Christmas; apparently a family tradition to give to a needy family. At this point in time, we had no idea who Ivan and Lorraine were. They had contacted the pastor at our Church and I began to visit them. And over time a bond was formed. They are both sadly missed. Hugs to you Pat and Alan and the rest of the family. - Posted by: Nicole Zopf (Friend) on: Jul 21, 2015

We enjoyed being Lorraine and Ivan neighbors in Rockglen. She was a very sweet lady. She was very courageous and brave. She always had a smile on her face and kind words to share. I will never forget her. Kaya especially like going to see her kids as she called her puppys. I am very happy that she got to go home and spend time with her family. She talked about all her grandkids very much. She loved her flowers and gardening and was always telling me about them. We will always remember the time we had with her.☺ - Posted by: Crystal, Raymond and Kaya Kuipers (Friend) on: Jul 21, 2015

I met Lorraine just after she moved to Rockglen. She was a very kind and generous soul. My sister and brother in law lived across the street from her. My niece became great friends with Lorraine. After she moved she always kept in contact with my sister and gave her and her husband little things here and there. She will be forever in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family in this hard time. But now she will be reunited with the love of her life, rest in peace Lorraine. - Posted by: Courtney Chase (Friend ) on: Jul 21, 2015
