LYNNE DEANNA BARLEY-CHOLAKIS (nee BRANGAN) 1936 - 2015 Lynne was born December 16, 1936 and passed away on July 13, 2015 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 78 years. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her son Tim (Jennifer), daughter Anne-Marie (Tim), her sister Lorraine McIntosh and grandchildren Emily, Ryan and Rhys. In addition, are numerous nephews and nieces and extended family members. Lynne was predeceased by her husband John and her father, Richard and mother Cicelieu (Cis). Lynne grew up in the west end of Winnipeg and attended area schools before graduating from St. Mary's Academy. Lynne eventually settled in St. James where she was a longtime resident. Lynne worked for over 20 years for the City of Winnipeg in various departments before retiring from the City Treasurer's Department in 2002. Lynne was able to spend her retirement years with her husband John where the two of them embarked on many adventures together. They spent winters on the coast and had many trips south of the boarder. Lynne enjoyed their many friendships and the memories that were created. They shared a common passion for their garden and embraced their time together. For Lynne, the true joy of her life was her grandchildren. She was their greatest supporter and they were the joy of her life. The family would like to thank Dr. George and the staff of the 3rd Floor South at the Grace Hospital for the outstanding care and compassion during Lynne's final days. Friends of Lynne are invited to a service at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue on Monday, July 20 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire donations may be made to Cancercare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or to the Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1P6.
