Date of Passing: Jul 15, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDARWIN SPENCER KUSHMAN February 20, 2014 - July 15, 2015 On February 20, 2014 we were graced with Darwin Spencer Kushman (aka the Dar Star, Chuckles, and Mr. No Pants). In his short time in this world he loved and was loved by all that met him. He was a boy who loved animals, planes, cars, outdoors, climbing, dancing and food. He hugged with his whole body and wiped away all the days worry and pain in his tiny arms. The twinkle in his eye and the sheer joy in everything around him were contagious and you could not help but feel good simply by being near him. He made our lives better and our hearts ache to hold him in our arms again. We would like to thank all of our friends and family, the police, the hospital staff and emergency workers who have helped our family during this difficult time. Mommy, Daddy, Gwen and all his family and friends that loved him so dearly. Lamay will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with interment to follow. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

Chris, Jo Ann & Gwen, you are in my heart and prayers. All of my children and grandchildren live in my very soul. You are all gifts from God. One of my biggest treasures will be that weekend I had with Darwin when you brought him and Gwen to Killarney for a visit. I can still feel his arms around me, I can smell him (and I mean that in a good way)I can hear him jabbering to me and pointing to communicate what he wanted and I can see that chubby face with that joyful smile. But most of all I remember a young child with a big heart who was able to discern who needed his love the most at any given time and would radiate towards that person to spread the joy he gave so willingly. He didn't have a gift....he was a gift. Although on loan to us for such a short while, I don't regret, for one moment, the time we had with him, even though we had to experience the pain of losing him. So Darwin, you are lighting up the heavens now and sitting at the foot of God's throne. Until we meet again sweetie.... - Posted by: Wendy McTavish (Darwin's Grandma) on: Jul 29, 2015

Words can't express how much Darwin will be missed. He truly was our Dar Star and we will remember his infectious laugh and warm smile he gave everyone. He was the life of all of our gatherings and made everyone around him smile. Our Dar Star really was a light for us and shined brighter than any star in the universe. Our condolences and prayers are with you Jo-Ann, Chris and Gwen. We love you and will continue to stand with you during this tough time and for all eternity. As it was mentioned before this isn't goodbye but a see you later as we will see you again in heaven. Darwin we promise you that uncle Rob will have a poutine he will share with you when we meet again. We love you - Posted by: Joy and Rob Sarmiento (Auntie and Uncle) on: Jul 24, 2015
