Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWIN RICHARD FEY May 16, 1933 - July 24, 2015 At home peacefully in his sleep, Edwin Richard Fey passed away at the age of 82 years, and is now in Jesus' arms. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Shirley, his children Terry (Trish), Pam (Jim) Hnatowich, Kevin (Dana), his treasured grandchildren Ben (Susie), Jayme, Quinton, Terralyn, Michael, Tayler (Tristan), Trevor, and his great-grandchildren Logan, Devon, and Lyla-Fey. He will be sadly missed by his sister Rosalie (Walter) Rach and brother Clifford (Valerie) Fey and in-laws George and Doris Sawchuk, Erwin and Lucille Walesiak, Clifford and Grace Patzer, Aldfred Otto, and many nieces and nephews. Edwin was a barber and owned barbershops at the Gimli Airforce base until it closed and then in Winnipeg. He still had a few customers coming to the house to get a haircut and he enjoyed their company. After he gave up barbering he was a bus driver for Winnipeg Transit, retiring in 1993. He and Shirley then travelled to many different countries and he had many happy memories from those trips. Dad's heart was happiest when he was with his family. He was always there when we needed him, with a smile, a word of advice or encouragement or a helping hand. We will miss him. A funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 221 Kimberley Avenue, Winnipeg, on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Dear Ed's family: Even though we don't know each other please accept my sincere condolences. For many years, Ed and I worked out of North Garage. It was always a pleasure to sit with Ed, have a quick coffee and exchange some information about what was happening in our lives. His smile was infectious and his mood was always positive. It's been years since we saw one another but I have thought of him often. I will remember him as a warm and happy human being. May he rest in peace. PS: I would love to attend Ed's service but unfortunately I shall be out of town tomorrow. - Posted by: Joseph Majowski (Retired bus driver) on: Jul 29, 2015

I am so sorry to hear about the world's loss of such a gentle wonderful man... He was always so pleasant when he came to see us at Winnipeg Hearing. I was shocked finding out. Can't imagine how people feel who knew him closer. Sorry again for your loss. - Posted by: Dianne (Winnipeg Hearing ) on: Jul 28, 2015

Hi Shirley, The last time I saw Ed was when Gilles had his moving out sale at the end of May. I am sorry to hear about Ed's passing away, but unfortunately we all have to go through this, I know the feeling. I hope things will work out fine for you Shirley, and I wish you the best. You two were great neighbors to have, and I can't forget how straight Ed cut his hedge between the two houses. You were both a support for me when I went through Louis' dementia, and I thank you for that. Life is not fair sometimes, but you are a strong woman, and I know you will overcome your loss. - Posted by: denise gareau (next door neighbour ) on: Jul 28, 2015

Dear Shirley and Family, So sorry to hear about Edwin. We will have many great memories of our dear Cousin, and we will miss him. When we pass by the houses that he built in Maple Ridge, all his hard work will be remembered. Much love to you and the Children and Grandchildren. Sincerely, Allen, Bonnie, Brenda and Karen and Family. xoxoxxo - Posted by: Karen Zirk (Cousin) on: Jul 25, 2015
