MURIEL BATTAGLIA December 18, 1920 July 21, 2015 Peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 Muriel passed away at the Charleswood Care Centre, where she has resided for a short period of time. Muriel is survived by her loving and devoted son Philip and daughter-in-law Gwen. Muriel was predeceased by her loving husband Emmanuel in 2005, sons Dennis in infancy and Kenneth in 2007. Muriel was the last of her siblings. Predeceased by brothers Stan and Charles, sister Lavina. Muriel was born December 18, 1920 in Winnipeg. She resided her entire life in the West End, except for a short period of time when Dad was serving in the navy, when she lived in Halifax. Mom loved to read books on history and could, up until the end, tell you all about The Battle of Seven Oaks. In her early years she liked to go out dancing with dad, brother Stan and sister-in-law Pearl to the Patterson Ranch House on Logan Ave. After dad's retirement they went on many bus tours from coast to coast and as far south as Memphis. We cannot thank our "Susie" enough for all the love, care and compassion she has given mom, especially when mom fell and broke her hip this past March. Mom loved Susie and cherished her friendship. We would like to thank the staff at Charleswood Care Home, even though she wasn't there long, the staff were very compassionate to her. Thank you also to the staff and doctors at Seven Oaks Hospital, Unit 3, 3rd Floor. Especially to the staff at Lions Manor, Supportive Housing, 5th Floor, where mom lived, up until she had her fall. She really enjoyed the staff, her outings and activities and especially her meals, as she always said that's why we put her there. In keeping with mom's wishes, there will be no service. Private interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715
