SISTER LORRAINE SAVOIE (Soeur Brigitte) 1941 - 2015 Peacefully, on July 18, 2015, Sister Lorraine Savoie passed away at Action Marguerite, Taché Centre. She was predeceased by her parents, Cécile Vouriot and Jules Savoie and a sister-in-law née Yvonne Arnal. Apart from the members of her religious community, she leaves to mourn her brother, René; as well as four nephews and nieces: Janet, Robert, Michelle, Paul and their families. Lorraine was born on March 6, 1941 in La Salle, Manitoba. She studied in La Salle, St. Adolphe and St. Malo. She began her religious training in the congregation of Les Filles de la Croix in 1957 and made her final vows in 1964 in St. Boniface. After her Normal School in 1961, Lorraine taught for nine years in Winnipeg, Bellegarde and St. Malo. Her pupils keep fond memories of her. After some religious studies at the University of Manitoba, Sister Lorraine served as pastoral worker and as catechist in the parishes of St. Bernadette, Blessed Sacrament, St. Emile and St. Peter's in Regina. A woman of faith, deeply spiritual, Sister Lorraine took great joy in the sharing of the Word of God. She wanted all people to understand and to live in "the simplicity of the Gospel". It is with courage and serenity that Sister Lorraine faced the trials of life. After recovering from a serious illness, she devoted herself whole heartedly to the service of refugee people. Who can count the numerous letters she wrote on their behalf? All appreciated her caring and loving personality. We, her Sisters, will remember her warm smile, her open mind, her attentive listening, her sense of service and her dedication as a member of the Provincial Council. Creative, very gifted, joyful, she shared with us her love of music, her singing and her involvement with all our celebrations. Thank you, Lorraine. The family and Sisters want to thank the personnel of Villa Aulneau and that of Taché Centre for their loving care and friendly relationship with our Sister. Her funeral service will be held at Villa Aulneau, 601 rue Aulneau, on Tuesday, July 28 at 1:30 p.m.. Father Arthur Massé omi will preside this celebration of life. Burial will follow in St. Adolphe cemetery. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 204-775-2220
