• Paula, Jason and Patrick - I am a friend of Keri Doucette's. I've been following Kenzie's story since she got diagnosed, and have kept you in my prayers. I, too, lost a child to cancer. My son, Aidan, passed away at 5 1/2 years old on July 17, 2009, from H1N1, only 26 days into his treatment and while in remission. My heart aches for you. All I can say is to keep an open mind and be aware of your surroundings, because Kenzie will make herself known to you. She's still with you, just not in the way you would like. I can also tell you that, eventually, you will experience joy, again. That bowling ball on your chest will one day feel like a baseball. In the meantime, hold onto each other, respect each other and allow one another to grieve in your own way. Lean on your family, friends and community. You will continue to be in my prayers.
