PEARL RYDZ Pearl Rydz, aged 91 years of Arborg, MB, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on July 25, 2015. Pearl will be sadly missed by her children Jim (Colleen), Joan (Randy) Woloshyn, Elaine Mymko and Dave Pawluk (Gail); sisters Mary Chymy and Stella Swereda, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pearl was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Tony in 2004; parents Mary and Mike Hnatiw; son Bert; sisters Ann, Nellie, Kay and Jean; brothers John and Bill, and an infant son. She was born in Hamrlik, MB. In her younger years she moved to Winnipeg Beach and was preceded by her husband Alex Pawluk. In 1952 she married Tony and lived in Winnipeg Beach until 1957, and later moved to Morweena and then Arborg. She worked as a head cook for the St. Benedict's Manor and Arborg Hospital for many years. Later she retired and moved to Sunrise Lodge in Arborg and just recently to the Betel Home in Selkirk. Mom and Dad worked side by side in maintaining the farm, yard and garden. They enjoyed socializing with many of their friends and family. She loved her flower gardens, which she was very proud of. The family would like to thank all the homecare workers and health care providers at the Sunrise Lodge and Arborg Hospital. We would also like to thank Dr. Zoppa, the nurses at the Selkirk and District General Hospital and Betel Home in Selkirk. The family appreciates the care and support they provided. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, July 29 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB, at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday, July 30 in the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church, in Arborg at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Harry Chuckry and Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will follow at the Morweena Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Trevor Woloshyn, Jerry Rydz, Ronnie Mymko, Dave Pawluk, Kelly Harder and Carlos Escasbar. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Morweena Community Cemetery Fund, C/O Box 321, Arborg, MB R0C 0A0. The love for her family will be cherished forever.
