So many fond memories - particularly of visiting in Fredericton to Aunt Kitty's home next to the dairy farm! I think that Paul, Peter and I found ways to push her buttons on more than a few occasions, testing her patience with each of us. When Mom passed away, Kitty made sure to check in with Dad on a frequent basis to see how he was doing, and to just - well, - chat - something she was particularly good at! My last memory of Kitty was when she was visiting with Barb in Calgary, and we managed to get together for a couple of hours to get reacquainted, and to converse about family. And family seemed to be the most important thing in her life, for as long as I can remember. We will all miss her! - Posted by: Jim Vance (Nephew) on: Aug 07, 2015

Kitty was a wonderful neighbour and a great friend to our family. She was our neighbour for 29 years. Merv and I enjoyed our visits with Kitty and Dave. We were fortunate to be able to join in celebrating her 90 th birthday and meet the rest of her wonderful family. We will truly missed our dear friend! Our deepest sympathy to the Newcombe family. Kitty was the first person to welcome us to the neighbourhood 25 years ago. I can still see her coming up the driveway with a container full of baking. In summer she could be found relaxing on her front step enjoying visits from neighbours. She loved a good chat and always had a good story or two to share. Our hearts are sad for David and the rest of the family. With heartfelt condolences, Barb, Brad and the boys. (Next door) - Posted by: Barb Bunko (Neighbour) on: Aug 04, 2015

While kitty was staying at oak view extendicare I joined the adopt a grandparent program and was assigned kitty to visit. I loved to visit her and hear all of the stories she would tell me each time. She remembered all of the details in her stories. When ever I visited her she was always in a good mood and I am so glad I had the chance to meet her. - Posted by: Campbell () on: Aug 03, 2015

I will never forget the tea biscuits she made as if it was no big deal. My first tuna melt....before she did that my Mom couldn't get me to eat fish. At her home, there was no option....I still love tuna melts to this day and raised my kids on them thanks to Aunt Kitty. She perfected the art of delicious desserts and I could never wait til we had another visit coming up with her. She loved my Uncle Lloyd (Mom's brother). He was a quiet gentle man, and she was the one who just made things happen. I hate that you are gone from our lives, but know that you are free from all the things that plagued you and are in the arms of your husband and family departed. xo You were quite a trailblazer! - Posted by: Jane (Vance) Ritchie (Niece) on: Aug 02, 2015

Aunt Kitty would talk to you and fill you in on all the family news. Her family moved to Winnipeg when I was young but I do remember visits in Fredericton and Halifax. They had a Plymouth (or Dodge) at one time with what I called an "Ooogah" horn. She had to be a pretty cool lady to allow Uncle Lloyd to put a horn like that on a then "modern" car. It is a cherished memory of long ago. Goodbye Aunt Kitty...for now...I'll see you later. - Posted by: Rob Vance (Nephew) on: Aug 01, 2015
