Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDGARD J. E. DELAQUIS Peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, Edgard passed away at Grace General Hospital, at the age of 61 years, following a lengthy recovery related to two brain tumor surgeries. Born on February 24, 1954 in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba, Edgard had lots of fun growing up with his five siblings, raising rabbits, hosting wrestling matches, playing sports and games, snowshoeing, hunting and swimming. As a young adult, he became a life guard and enjoyed working as a surveyor and volunteering as a Big Brother. Following his studies at University of Manitoba and Red River College, Edgard made his career as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. He was well-liked by his colleagues and through his passion for taking and testing blood, Edgard became known as the "French mosquito". Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Notre Dame de l'Assomption Roman Catholic Church, 609 Leola Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Bishop Noel Delaquis, presiding. A reception will follow. Interment will be held in the Fall of 2015 in the Saint-Boniface Cemetery. We have been away-so sorry to hear of Edgard's death. I did not work in the same department at Gamma Dynacare but often spoke with Edgard at coffee break and passing through the department. I have been retired a few years now but remember Edgard fondly. He was a lovely gentle soul-always positive with a great sense of humour. - Posted by: Susan Stevens (co-worker at Gamma Dynacare) on: Aug 13, 2015

i worked with Edgard for a number of years at Fort Garry Care Center on Pembina Highway and always looked forward to the days he was there to draw blood. Edgard was a friend that always seemed to say the right thing when I would meet up to him, or when he came to my shop. He was always interested to know how I was , and if I was working too much . He would say ...... You're wasting your youth ! Have some fun ! Knowing that I was a gardener .......he would always ask about my tomatoes. Always a big smile. He will be missed by all. - Posted by: Claude Lemoine (friend) on: Jul 30, 2015

I am so sorry to hear about Edgar's passing. I remember Edgar and your family so well from Cardinal and Notre Dame de Lourdes where we visited your family when we would come to see our grandfather Louis LeHingrat. It was so nice to talk to you Arthur at my father's funeral last week and I was so sorry not to get a chance to talk to Jill. I still remember us as teenagers and young adults. How time flies for each of us. Again please accept my condolences. Lorraine Hannah (nee LeHingrat) - Posted by: Lorraine Hannah (Friend and almost relative!) on: Jul 30, 2015
