Dorothy ( I called her DOT) was a Caring, Compassionate, Empathic & Understanding individual/She retired the year I graduated. She was selfless & ALWAYS thought of others before herself. I lived in the Building they named after her & Dorothy deserves that recognition. You are & will be missed for all that truly knew you. 40 years & not one day missed at work/ again such a role model/ You were truly loved❤️ Teaching came naturally & very approachable if needed guidance I am sorry this tribute is 6 years after the fact but I was working elsewhere & only found out after speaking to a former friend/student. I remember Miss Wood very fondly having been under her excellent Nursing Instruction while taking Nursing at the Grace General Hospital. I was with the last 3 year Nursing Diploma Program and lived in the Dormitory that is now recognized with Miss Wood's tremendous contribution to the Nursing Field. I'll always remember her instruction to "wash your hands Ladies" and how true it is today! My sincerest sympathy to the passing of this fine Lady and true Professional. - Posted by: mabbutt orrasia (former nursing student) on: Aug 10, 2015

My sincere condolences to Dorothy's family and friends. She was a kind and gentle teacher, always respectful of each patient, and encouraging to her students. She would have been so pleased to know that many of us continued with nursing education, and some became nursing instructors as well, rest in peace dear Miss Wood. - Posted by: Judith Hodgson (Former Nursing student) on: Aug 08, 2015
