ANGELE BOURBONNIERE
Date of Passing: Jul 31, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANGELE BOURBONNIERE (nee LACROIX) (DESCHENES) On Friday, July 31, 2015, Angele (Angie) died peacefully at the age of 87, in the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit, with family by her side. She is predeceased by her husband Armand (Tom) in 2001. Jeannine Einarson is her only surviving sibling. She will be missed by her children Denis (Carmen), Lucille (Andre Berriault), Suzanne (Marshall Mitton), her six grandchildren Kerry, Marc, Jeremie, Julie, Stephane, and Christopher. Her four great-grandchildren Danielle, William, Laurent, Elise, as well as her many nieces and nephews. In the early 60's Angele became a "working" mom and began a career at Thompson Lumber in St. Boniface. She was their bookkeeper and also worked at the order desk. She was a pioneer in that profession as a woman in the lumber yard was unheard of in those days. Then, later in life she worked at the reception desk at CBC on Portage Avenue. She was always a people person so these jobs were a natural for her. Angele had a great love of travel, whether it was a road trip to California with her daughters, a trip to Rome with her sister Alphonsine or off to Japan with Tom. Winter vacations with Tom in Puerto Vallarta and her cruises with Lucille were definitely a joy for her. She was a dedicated care giver to her sister Alphonsine and brother Charlie in their latter years. Dining out, drinking red wine, reading, doing her daily crossword puzzles and cryptograms, attacking a jigsaw puzzle were her many favorite things. The most important outing for her these last few years was the Thursday drive to St. Adolphe for the lunch and bingo at the Club Amical. That was the highlight of her week and she hated missing it. She enjoyed laughing and chatting with these new friends every week. Many will miss her smile and sense of humour. Mom was a survivor all her life and her strength and positive attitude came through when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2013. Special thanks to Dr. P. Mehta, Mom's long time family physician. He was always there for her. No words can express the great gratitude we feel for ALL the staff on 8A Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital. Care, kindness and concern were experienced every day during our Mom's long stay. Special thanks to Janet for being with us at the end of Mom's journey. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Palliative Care Endowment Fund (St. Boniface Hospital Foundation), 409 Tache, Room C1026, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2H 2A6, tel: 204-237-2067. Funeral mass will be held Friday August 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road. Desjardins 233-4949 1-888-233-4949 www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca

We too will remember Auntie Angele as a very happy lady who always had a big smile and good wishes for everyone she came in contact with. (I remember her being a bit mischievous too!) She will be missed. My sympathies to her immediate family. Brigitte Fisher (nee Suszko) - Posted by: Brigitte Fisher (nee Suszko) (Great-niece) on: Aug 06, 2015

Sympathies on the passing of your mom, grandmother and great grandmother. The picture you chose was so indicative of Tante Angele. She always had a smile and a wide open hug for all. She will be remembered fondly. Christine and Family. - Posted by: Christine Payne (nee Suszko) (Great Neice) on: Aug 05, 2015

Denis, Lucille and Suzanne Sorry I can't be there with you in the physical sense but please know my heart is with you all. Ma Tante Angele was a very special aunt to me in my life growing up, we spent a lot of time with her. She was so kind and extremely caring to my mother her final years, never missing a Sunday with her for this I am eternally grateful as I am sure as was my mother and brothers. I am also grateful for Lucille and Suzanne allowing me to come visit her for four days at the end of June, a time I will cherish. Even with her illness and weakened state, do you think I could convince her that I was in fact her favorite niece?!? We shared many laughs those four days. I am so glad I went and to have spent this time with her and the girls. TRY and keep the rest of the family down to a dull roar and tell them I miss them all - Merci ma tante, je t'aime beaucoup, bon voyage - Posted by: Diane Chopek (Forest) (Niece) on: Aug 05, 2015
