BARRY SCAIFE It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Father, Husband, Brother, Grandfather, and Friend, Barry Scaife. Barry fought a courageous fight against cancer and remained strong until the end. He was predeceased by his father and mother Sandy and Olive Scaife. Barry will be missed by his Partner Evelyne, Daughters Colleen and Catherine (James), Brothers Lloyd (Judy), Raymond (Barb), and Grandchildren Colton, Austin and Kaelyn Unger, along with Michelia and Hayden Roy. Barry had a passion for horses, which started as a young child. He spent most of his working life at the Assiniboine Downs Race Track where he started at 15 years old. He perfected many jobs there, finally working his way up to Head Parade Marshall for Standardbreds and Head Gate Starter for Thoroughbreds. Barry then moved on to working for the RM of Rosser where he stayed until his retirement. Most of Barry's free time was spent watching horseracing, hunting or fishing, and whenever possible sharing that time with his many close friends. A huge thank you to the Palliative Home Care Nurses for all their support over the last few months, especially Sean. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude. Also special thanks to Barry's good friends for the Wednesday and Thursday afternoon visits that he looked forward to every week. Barry will be laid to rest at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 during a graveside service at the cemetery in Warren, MB, where he was born and spent much of his life. All are welcome to attend.
