ALOISIA (ELSIE) BARAN March 28, 1921 - August 4, 2015 Peacefully on August 4, 2015 at 94 years of age, Aloisia went to Heaven to join her husband Mike, and daughter Freida. She leaves behind her daughter Elaine (Bill), son Donald (Bonny), grandchildren Clint, Deneige, Dylan, Austin, Amanda and Brandon and great-grandchildren Jayden, Cayden, and Carson as well as extended family in Europe. Aloisia was born in Austria (maiden name Holzer) and came to Canada in 1949 with her only child at the time, Freida, to join her husband. They started out with very little when first arriving in Canada, but worked very hard to overcome many obstacles to build a good life for their family, which later expanded to include two more children, Elaine and Donald. After a short time in Ontario, they established themselves in Vivian, Manitoba, which became home to them for many years until failing health took Mike in 1996. Mom devoted her life to her family. She loved to garden (which showed in her beautiful yard and bountiful garden), was a great cook (her kitchen was always open) and enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. We have many wonderful memories of Mom to cherish. Many thanks to those who provided Mom with great care and compassion during her final years while residing at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour. Interment will follow in Millbrook Cemetery, Anola. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations to Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or East Gate Lodge.
