Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE MAY KLASSEN (nee IVES) Our mother Alice Klassen passed away peacefully on August 13, 2015 at the age of 87, with her family by her side. Before settling in Winnipeg with our father to raise her family, Mom lived in many small towns in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. She loved playing the piano, curling at the Pembina Curling Club and was a sports enthusiast. She loved to travel and always had a zest for fun and adventure. Alice was predeceased by her loving husband, Bill; is survived by her children, Arlene (Ray Erb), Ray (Karen) and Deborah (Peter Findlay); and by her three grandchildren, Christopher, Craig and Abigail. She will be sadly missed. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of their choice. Alice and my Mom Margaret became very close friends in a short period of time while living in the same block (twice). Alice was a very nice lady and was a good friend to my Mom at a time in her life when days were often lonely and long. They shared mutual interests and a lot of time together. In many ways they reminded me of a couple of teens, just hanging out together and doing whatever they thought they should. My Mom passed just two weeks earlier than Alice on August 1st. It seemed to me that although they only knew each other a few short years they developed a close bond and spent that time well. - Posted by: B. Black (Friend) on: Dec 19, 2015
