I never met Alma Hess. But my mom did and she very much valued their friendship. It seems the two of them spent time in Russian POW camps. I hope I'm remembering this correctly. I used to address birthday cards to her when my mom could no longer see properly. Rest in peace. And thanks for being my mom's friend. - Posted by: Gabriele Goldstone (Daughter of a friend) on: Sep 05, 2015

I knew Mrs. Hess as a child. I grew up next door with my parents and she was so kind to me and my brother. She liked to give us gifts and always loved to be in her garden. When I became older, she showed the same love and kindness to my children. Rest in peace Mrs. Hess. We will miss you. - Posted by: Lori Verreault (family friend) on: Aug 24, 2015
