GERHARD NORBERG 1946 - 2015 Gerhard Norberg, born April 5, 1946, in Wabern, Germany; married December 22, 1972; passed away peacefully August 17, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital, with his family at his side, after a short but brave battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his mother Meta and stepfather Theodore. Gerhard is survived by his loving wife Yolanda; sons Garett (Jennifer) and Gene; brother Emil (Cheryl); and sisters Ingrid (Larry) and Rose. He leaves behind a large, extended family including aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gerhard had many varied interests; including a huge passion for and knowledge of history, vehicles, writing and home renovation. His hospitality was legendary and Gerhard and Yolanda's door was always open. They welcomed one and all. He developed friendships easily with his warm and easy manner and many of these lasted a lifetime. He will be sorely missed. Funeral service will be held on August 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. His sense of humour was contagious and I enjoyed my conversations with him and always looked forward to his calls and emails. He was always so cheerful and loved life for all it was worth.
