Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARCIA ELIZABETH FAVOT (nee KNOX) October 16, 1930 - August 13, 2015 With much sadness we announce the passing of Marcia, a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Debbie and RaeAnn (Dan), her beloved grandchildren Kyle (Amanda) and Kelsie (Kevin), sister Peggy Stewart, sister-in-law Joan Knox, and many special nieces, nephews and grandpets. She was predeceased by her husband "Butch" (Aldo) in 1987, her father and mother John and Marion Knox, her brothers Jack and David, and her sisters-in-law Bette and Lois. Marcia was born in Houghton, Michigan the third child and first daughter of Marion and John Knox. Two months later her family moved to Canada to Wawa, Ontario. Her family moved to various locations where her father opened and managed several gold and copper mines. She graduated from the Metropolitan School of Nursing in Windsor, Ontario and in 1951 accepted a position as a Registered Nurse at the Sioux Lookout General Hospital. While in Sioux, her father introduced her to her future husband "Butch" and they were married in 1952. Together they had two daughters Debbie and RaeAnn. She took a break from nursing to raise her children and then returned to work at the Sioux Lookout General Hospital in 1974 until she retired in 1991. She loved her home at the lake where she welcomed many family and friends and spent many happy hours watching the water, the beautiful sunsets and enjoying fun activities on the beach. She was always there for her grandchildren, Kyle and Kelsie and never missed a special moment in their lives. Many times Grandma was led into unplanned adventures with them which always resulted in some very interesting stories! There was a special bond between them and she was loved so deeply. She loved adventure and travelled the world with her special friends. Her favourite place was Waikiki Beach in Hawaii. Through the years she loved to read, golf, line dance and aquacise. She especially looked forward to her Wednesday lunches with friends followed by spending time together at the Seniors Centre. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League, the Sioux Area Senior's Centre, the Hospital Auxiliary, the Retired Nurses' Group of the Sioux Lookout General Hospital, the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Registered Nurses of Ontario. Marcia wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to Rob and Tannis Favot for all their kindness and for always being there for her. She would also like to thank Dr. Jon Morgan for all his support and for going above and beyond the "call of duty" for her many times. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Interment to follow. Prayers will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Forever in our thoughts and hearts. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Saddened to hear of Marcia's passing. The first time I met her was when Dan took me to Sioux Lookout to fish and she welcomed me into her home. Our condolences to Debbie, RaeAnn "Doc" Dan and family. - Posted by: Gord and Wanda Holmberg (Friends of family) on: Aug 23, 2015
