Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE LESLIE FREDRICKSON It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father and grandfather, Lawrence on August 21, 2015. He is survived by his sons Carl and Brian (Terry), grandchildren Alyssa and Tristan, sister-in-law Louise, as well as many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Anita and his brother Terrance. Lawrence was born on January 11, 1937 in Rainy River, Ontario. Larry was educated at the Ontario School for the blind in Brantford, Ontario. Upon completion of his education, he moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba and worked at Rayo-Vac as the manager of their canteen. He was an active participant in the blind sport program in both curling and bowling where he met the love of his life, Anita. They were married in 1966. They then started their family with Carl and then two years later Brian. Larry's children remember him being a very strong, independent, intelligent man who encouraged his children to follow his example as they grew into adulthood. Larry was a successful business man owning his business A&L Catering. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family on vacation at the cabin in Saskatchewan. Larry was an avid card player and loved to challenge people to a game. Cribbage was one of his favourites and he never let you forget how badly he skunked you. We will always love and miss you Dad and we take solace in knowing that you are now with Mom and Uncle Terry. Give them our love. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba in memory of Anita Fredrickson. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
