JOYCE NAHULIAK (nee FINISHEN) On August 21, 2015, Mom passed away in her 67th year with her daughters by her side, each holding a hand as she went to meet Dad for a coffee in Heaven. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Philip, in 2009. Together, they leave to mourn their daughter Lisa (Darren), granddaughter Sydney, daughter Margret (Gord) and grandson Matthew. Darren and Gord were more than sons-in-law to Mom, they were the sons she never had and she often said how lucky she was to have them in her life. Mom also leaves her beloved dog Belle, her constant companion in the years since Dad left. Belle will now be taken care of by Lisa and her family. Mom was born in Rama, Saskatchewan she was the fifth daughter of Philip and Margret Finishen. Mom along with her sisters Anne, Sophie, Vicky and Marjorie moved to Winnipeg in 1953. Mom married Dad at the age of 18 and started a new chapter of her own with him. Mom began her career at A&W, moved on to be a hairstylist, then worked for RBC for 20 years and ended her career at Manitoba Lotteries. At that time she took on her most accomplished job to date a babysitter to Matt and Syd while Lisa and Margret worked. Mom, along with Dad, always tried to make our home life fun; she was an amazing cook, baker and enjoyed doing needlepoint. Mom also like to read a scary book or watch a scary movie. Many weekends they set up the tent trailer and we camped at Arnes or we were loaded into the truck and away we went to the Family Farm in Red Rose, where we spent the weekends with her in-law's John and Lena Nahuliak along with Dad's Family. The days she saw her daughter's get married were some of the happiest of her life. She also enjoyed travelling, spending time with her sister's Annie and Vicky on their farms or with Marjorie and Sophie at their cottages. Mom and Dad were so overjoyed with the birth of their Grandchildren, one boy Matthew and one girl Sydney. Our parents idolized their grandchildren and we could go as far as to say they spoiled them, they would always say that Matt and Syd were their hearts. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held. Mom was a great lover of animals and as an expression of sympathy, a memorial donation in Mom's name can be made to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Ave. Do not mourn for me, I have not left you Look into the eyes of my family And you will find me there. You were everything to us, Until we meet again, rest in peace. We will love you for now and always VICHNAYA PAMYAT For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. I know you all don't know me, I am a cousin of Philip and I live in California. Philip's mom "Lena" & my mom "Jennie" are sisters. Mom would take us to Dallas to visit the family every summer. We would have so much fun seeing our cousins and I still remember it. When I got married we moved away. My sister Ivy who lives in Lockport told me about Joyce ,we were sad to hear the news .Our thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends .Now she's at peace and with Philip, Rosie, Aunty Lena & Uncle John and the rest of the family in heaven. R.I.P Joyce. - Posted by: Fran Danko (cousin to Philip) on: Aug 30, 2015

Growing up on Ingersoll Street, we were fortunate to have many moms to look out for us. Mrs. Nahuliak was one of those moms, who made sure we all played safe, and kept a watchful eye over us. May you Rest In Peace, and continue to watch over all of us. My deepest condolences to Lisa, Margret and their families. - Posted by: Nicole Bouchard (Former neighbour) on: Aug 26, 2015

Dear Lisa and Margaret, I am so sorry for your loss. My mom and dad shared a few fun memories of your parents and life on Ingersoll after we heard the news of your mom. It was good to think back to those days. Take care. - Posted by: JoAnne Kleb (famy friend and former neighbor) on: Aug 25, 2015
