JEAN (ISABEL) TROY February 13, 1931 September 1, 2015 Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt. Isabel was born to Fred and Myrtle Taylorson. Mom married Harold Troy on June 6, 1953 when he was stationed in MacDonald, Manitoba. Mom and Dad moved to many places in their marriage until they settled in Lundar in March 1966. Mom was predeceased by her parents Fred and Myrtle Taylorson, half-brother Freddie, sister Ruth, brothers Glen and Gordon, husband Harold and infant daughter and grandson Michael McIvor. Mom is survived by her brother Edwin; daughter Cindy (Kris) Vigfusson, grandson Michael (Laura) great-granddaughters Sigga and Steina; daughter Cathy (Virgil) Johnson, grandchildren Kelsey-Jean (Dave) and Keifer; daughter Margaret (Les) McIvor, grandchildren Robin, Leslie, Brittany and great-grandchildren Kydin and Robin Junior and newly adopted granddaughter Alysa Lalonde along with multiple nieces and nephews who meant the world to her. She will also be missed by her "honorary daughters" Janice and Maureen. Mom spent many hours in service to others, her family, the family pets and her community. Mom loved helping others, visiting and having tea with friends and family. Throughout her years Mom accumulated many friends. Mom had a truly special connection with all of those who worked with her in the Ladies Auxiliary. It is impossible to list all of the organizations Mom volunteered at, only that she could be found working at almost anything going on in town. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the Lundar Legion Hall with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Lunch will follow the service with a private family interment to be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers for Mom are Pat Cook, Janice and Hal Sigurdson, Val Hallson, Randy Gudmundson, Maureen Johnson, Wayne Hayward and Kelly Eirickson. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Mom`s memory to a community charity of your choice. A special thank you to Arla Brandson for her support on a most difficult day. Thank you to everyone who touched Mom's life in anyway. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Cindy(Kris) and family, as well as Cathy(Virgil) and family. We are thinking of you in this sad time. I remember the hard work that your Mom did in her life, and was glad to see she was enjoying her retirement in volunteering in the community. She was a strong Lady! Hugs all around. - Posted by: Jim & Deb Mason (Friend) on: Sep 09, 2015

  • Isabel will be deeply missed by the community she was a part of and served so well for so many years. I cannot think of a community event where Isobel was not working in the kitchen! Well, Isabel....you got your wish. You will never get to be a Resident in my Care Home! I admired her deeply. She was a pistol! - Posted by: Colleen Hogue (friend) on: Sep 08, 2015

  • Isabel was a great lady, always friendly and concerned for everyone! Enjoyed many chats during our "chicken chef" days! My condolences to her family. She will surely be missed! - Posted by: Audrey Miller (acquaintance) on: Sep 05, 2015
