Date of Passing: Aug 31, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA HETTIE HAY March 16, 1920 - August 31, 2015 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Hay. She was predeceased by her loving husband Archie. She is survived by her five children: Cherhl (Jim), Rick (Dale), Cyndy (Mitchell), Brenda (Cathy) and Stuart, six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mom was born in Portsmouth, England March 16, 1920 and spent her early years there. In 1941 Mom joined the W.A.A.F. and served until 1944. The highlight was she got to dance with Clark Gable when he visited her Air Force base during the Second World War. Mom came to Canada in March 1945. In 1952 Mom married Archie and spent 58 years of happily married life with him, raising their five children. In 1982 Mom and Dad built their retirement home on the lakefront of Ponemah Beach. They got to spend 17 wonderful years there until declining health had them back to the city in 1999. Due to failing health Mom spent the last 10 years at Golden Links Lodge where she was ably taken care of by wonderful, compassionate staff including her hairdresser's daughter for five of those years. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will take place next spring. We would like to thank the staff at Golden Links Lodge on both floors for the excellent care Mom received. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation, or Golden Links Lodge would gratefully be appreciated. Rest Peacefully "Mommsie" Give Dad a kiss. My condolences to Cyndy and family. Pat's quick wit and sweet disposition made our time at the dining table so enjoyable. I will miss seeing both of you. Take care. - Posted by: Lisa Aho (our family members are residents at Golden Links) on: Sep 09, 2015

Cherhl, Jim and entire Hay Family - My condolences in the loss of your Mum. I have very fond memories of Pat and Archie from Douglas Park Road Days. I remember all the "kiddies" on the big white front porch. - Posted by: June Macleod Jones (Friend from Douglas Park Road) on: Sep 07, 2015
