Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLLOYD PERCY MCLEAN SR It is with great sadness in our hearts to announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Lloyd Percy McLean Sr. on September 4, 2015 in Lake Manitoba First Nation at the age of 81. Lloyd is predeceased by his parents Catherine and Alexander; his brothers George, John, Walter, Stanley; sister Eva; his children Denise and Desmond and his grandchildren Mandy, Andrew and Thomas; his sisters-in-law Audrey, Theresa, Myra, Ida and Elizabeth along with his brother-in-law Ricki. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Florence Bella McLean of 61 years; his children Percy Jr. (Lynn), Paul (Emily), Darlene (Willard), Melinda (Don), Joanne, Dennis (Vanessa), Bernadette (Ruben) and George; his 38 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law Eva and Jean; brothers-in-law William, Alec and Archie. Lloyd was born on March 19, 1934 in Dog Creek First Nation #46. He met his wife Florence in 1955 and have been together ever since. Throughout that time, they had 10 children whom he loved very much. Lloyd loved being outdoors where he enjoyed various activities including hunting, fishing and trapping. He also loved to play bingo and VLT's. He graduated from Brandon University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Lloyd was a very talented hockey player in his youth. He continued to love all sports and enjoyed time watching the news and cooking shows. He was a professional painter, welder and mechanic. His passion was repairing and fixing vehicles. His best times were rice picking with his family and friends in Whiteshell Provincial Park. Later in years, he enjoyed being with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his favourite nephew Cornell McLean Sr. He will always be remembered by his REZ Dog "Chummy" at the Band store. Lloyd raised six of his grandchildren, Lindsay, Andrew, Marsha, David, Mandy and Jade and three great-grandchildren Chase, Kelcy and Carman. Wake service will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Florence McLean's residence in Lake Manitoba First Nation. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Florence McLean residence in Lake Manitoba First Nation with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Lake Manitoba First Nation Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Percy McLean, Gregory Maytwayashing, Jade Malcolm, Cornell McLean Sr., Nathan McLean and Paul McLean. Crossbearer will be Shannon McLean. The family would like to thank Archie Chippeway, Marvin Chippeway, Ashlee Chippeway and all those who helped until the paramedics arrived. Also thanks to the paramedics and RCMP. A special thank you to Chief and Council of Lake Manitoba First Nation and Arnason Funeral Home. My grandpa was a very kind man, he called me his baby. He bought me my first quad like he got one for my brother. I love him so much he was my number 1 man and I like doing a lot of things he enjoyed not only was he my grandpa but he was also my best friend. I will never forget all the things he did for me. This is my great-grandfather he was a very kind man, I will remember him as a father figure. I remember one time me and my cousin Keanu asked him for money to buy junk food at the store and he said nope and then he said come here my boy and gave me 5 dollars he also bought me my first quad and I’ll never forget him, his wife will join him one day too and they will be at peace forever and for eternity. My sincere condolences to the McLean family for the loss of their. A marriage of 61 years speaks volumes about a person and you are all very fortunate to have had your beloved husband and Dad all these years.
