ROSALIE PAULINE KILFOYLE (GERAK) June 29, 1919 - September 5, 2015 It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Rosalie Pauline Kilfoyle on September 5, 2015 at the age of 96. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she leaves behind to mourn her passing two sons, Donald (Darlene) Kilfoyle, Gary (Lynn) Kilfoyle and her two treasured grandchildren Jennifer Kilfoyle and Geoffrey (Chelsea) Kilfoyle. She also will be greatly missed by her sister Margaret Ross and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Albert (Buster) Kilfoyle, her parents, brother Ed Stark and sisters Victoria Runge and Francis Gerak. Rosalie was born and raised in Winnipeg and worked as a hairdresser her entire career starting at the Cold Wave shop in the 1950s and ending at her own salon in Central Park Lodge at the age of 80. At that time, she became an avid volunteer. She could be counted on wherever she was needed from the Nearly New Shop to the canteen at Deer Lodge Community Club to Deer Lodge Hospital as a bartender/waitress, doing it all with infectious enthusiasm and energy. When not "working", she played. An avid bowler, curler, golfer, card and bingo player, she led her teams to many awards, making a multitude of friends along the way, some lasting many years. We would like to thank the staff of Tuxedo Villa for their excellent care of mom these last three years. Also, a big thank you to Margaret Stephen for her visits with Mom at least once a week and bringing her treats. Mom loved their time together. For all your years of love and support, We thank you Mom, For being our strength, For holding our hands, For always believing in us. Know that you will be cherished, Always, In our hearts, And in our minds. Know that whatever barrier may separate us, You will always be by our sides. And we, in turn, Will always be by yours. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of their choice. As per Mom's request, there will be no formal service. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn at a later date. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

  • To the Family of Rosalie. We had the pleasure of playing bridge for many years with Rosalie on Friday afternoons at the Creakers Bridge Club. She loved to play bridge and we loved to have her as a member of our bridge club for so many years. She was a lovely woman with a very kind heart and a smile for all who knew her. We were saddened to learn of her passing and would like to send our condolences to all members of her family at this sad time. - Posted by: Creakers Bridge Club postred by Edna Lee (Friends) on: Sep 13, 2015

  • Donald and Gary, please accept my heartfelt condolences in the passing of your mother - God rest her soul. I met your mother in the late 1940's through our mutual friend, Frances and Fred Larn of Overdale St. In those early years your mother would give Toni's to my mother and me at either your home or ours in Fort Garry and sometimes you would come with her. I always remember her being kind, thoughtful and she stood by her word. I am a little older than you and live in Houston TX. I'll always remember Rosalie with great affection. God bless you both and your families. - Posted by: Marilyn Gair (friend) on: Sep 12, 2015
