Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER ENNS March 16, 1938 - September 4, 2015 We announce with great sadness the passing of Peter Enns after a 12 year battle with Alzheimer's. Peter will be remembered by his daughter Rita, son Bernie, granddaughters Alyssa and Melissa, brother-in-law Willy and his family, as well as the many members of his wife's family. Peter was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Erna, his parents, Bernard and Maria, his brother Bernard, his sister Herta, and his son-in-law John. Peter was a quiet, contemplative man. Quite often he communicated with an expression or gesture rather than words. He was always willing to put others interests ahead of his own and pitch in with a lot of elbow grease. Peter was a bit of a traveler in his early years. He was born in Russia but moved to Germany then Paraguay and finally on to Canada, where he met and married his wife Erna and started his own family. He had several careers over his lifetime. In his teens, he worked in a furniture factory, in his 20s and 30s he was a house contractor, and in his 40s he started farming and did that till his retirement. He was proud to be the grandfather of twin girls, Alyssa and Melissa. He spent many an hour with them on the floor making towns and farms with Lego or Duplo and setting up train tracks too. With his cabinet making skills he made doll houses and a craft center and bunk beds for the girls. He later liked to watch them play when Alzheimer's started taking over his life. Funeral services will be held at Abundant Life Church at 3486 Raleigh St., East St. Paul at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015.
